Mount Fuji rises majestically against a bold vermillion sun in Schuettdesign's Japan Clock, a stunning fusion of traditional Japanese aesthetics and functional timekeeping. The composition draws from the visual language of classic ukiyo-e woodblock prints, rendered in a striking palette of deep orange-red, charcoal black, and crisp white. A five-story pagoda nestles among autumn maples in the foreground, while birds take flight across the upper left sky, and snow-capped peaks recede into misty grey tones behind the central mountain. The clock numerals at 12 and 3 are integrated seamlessly into the design, feeling less like functional markers and more like natural elements of the scene itself. The multi-filament layering technique creates genuine depth here — the orange foliage and sun appear to float slightly forward from the monochromatic ink-wash background, mimicking the relief quality of hand-carved woodblocks. Transitions between the white snow fields and grey mountain shading show fine gradation across print layers, suggesting careful filament swap calibration.
