Scottish Fold cat

Brooding and intense, this Scottish Fold cat portrait commands attention with its characteristic flattened ears and wide, luminous eyes gazing directly outward. Designer Aleksandr has rendered the subject in a dramatic monochromatic palette — pure black serving as both background and base, with fine white and silver tones coaxing every whisker, every tuft of fur, and the subtle roundness of that distinctively shaped head into vivid relief. The composition fills the canvas edge to edge, giving the portrait an almost confrontational intimacy that cat lovers will immediately recognize. The print demonstrates exceptional filament depth work, with delicate hair-fine lines representing individual whiskers and the texture of dense fur achieved through carefully calibrated layer transitions from deep black through charcoal to near-white highlights. The surface carries a smooth, slightly matte quality that enhances the scratchboard or engraving aesthetic Aleksandr has clearly pursued. Mounted on a dark wall, the piece virtually disappears into its surroundings at the edges, allowing the cat's luminous eyes to seem to float in shadow — an effect that feels genuinely striking in low or ambient lighting conditions.
