The Lost Boys - Hueforge

Two iconic faces from the cult 1987 vampire film stare out with brooding intensity in Sarge's HueForge tribute to The Lost Boys. The composition captures the film's signature blend of teenage rebellion and supernatural menace — one figure dominates the foreground in oversized dark sunglasses, wild curly hair framing a half-open mouth, while a second figure with spiked platinum hair looms behind with a cold, unsettling gaze. The palette is deliberately stark: deep blacks and cool grays render the faces in high-contrast noir style, while a bold slash of blood red bleeds across the upper right corner, nodding unmistakably to the film's gothic horror aesthetic. The print demonstrates impressive tonal range, with fine filament layering creating subtle gradients across skin tones and hair texture that give the piece an almost photographic quality at a distance. The halftone-like grain of the grayscale areas transitions cleanly into the dramatic red accent, suggesting careful calibration of filament depth during slicing. Mounted on a dark wall, this piece would feel right at home alongside vintage movie memorabilia, commanding the same brooding atmosphere the film itself has never lost.
